FA Cup Britton fires Seagulls into third round for first time

WESTON-SUPER-MARE made history as they qualified for the FA Cup third round for the first time, with their only previous second round fixture ending in defeat during the 2003-04 season.
Both goals from the game came from Louis Britton. The first was hammered into the net on 62 minutes after a perfect delivery from Dom Bernard. Britton’s second goal, in the 88th minute, secured the win as he managed to find the net after a scrappy encounter in the box.
The first 10 minutes of the game was full of life with both sides having numerous chances to try to break the deadlock.
Jason Adigun had the first chance of the game and it was one he should have scored from as his lobbed attempt from inside the six-yard box rose over the bar.
Moments later, Michael Smith was fouled on the edge of the penalty area, but Luke Coulson’s whipped in free-kick was unable to find a teammate.
