ESTEL FARELL ROIG finally gets the chance to stay at the wonderful Artist Residence, and can't recommend it highly enough

THE Artist Residence is one of those spots in Bristol that kept popping up but I hadn’t had a chance to visit yet.

An old boot factory turned into a boutique hotel in St Paul’s, the hotel has had high praise since it opened in 2021, including being highlighted in the Muddy Stilettos awards earlier this year.

A Georgian townhouse, it describes itself as an “eccentric home from home in the heart of the city”. With 23 rooms varying in size and style, the hotel also includes a cafe, bar and restaurant which can be used by the public as well as guests.

The 4* star hotel is certainly in an excellent central location, situated in Portland Square. Staying midweek, parking turned out to be less of an issue than I expected; we were able to park along some single-yellow lines around the corner, which meant we only had to pay for an hour's parking in the morning before we left. If we had struggled to find a spot on the street, Cabot Circus is just a few minutes away.

Compared to other hotels, the Artist Residence certainly has a homely feeling and I loved the bohemian style throughout. From the small details to the bigger picture, it is obvious a lot of thought has gone into creating the space.
