Cornick handed three-game ban after Millwall melee

HARRY Cornick has been handed a three-match suspension by the FA ahead of Bristol City's Boxing Day trip to West Brom after the forward admitted to breaching FA Rule E1.1 in the moments after the Robins’ defeat to Millwall earlier this month.

Gerhard Struber's side were beaten 1-0 by the Lions at Ashton Gate earlier in December. In a close-fought contest, Mihailo Ivanovic's second-half strike was enough for Alex Neil's side to secure all three points and condemn City to what was the first defeat of what proved to be a three-match winless run.

Ivanovic found the back of the net moments before the hour-mark, finishing from close range after Radek Vitek had twice denied Femi Azeez from the right side of the penalty area. Although the forward's strike was the only goal of the contest, it was the events that followed the winner that stole the headlines.
