City leader in last-minute bid to get extra cash from spending review

BRISTOL City Council’s leader has written to the Chancellor asking for extra cash ahead of today’s Comprehensive Spending Review.

Tony Dyer said he had asked for an extra £80 per person to bring the council in line with other UK cities in order to maintain services.
He said: “We recognise that the Chancellor has some challenging decisions ahead, however if Government is going to achieve its missions for our country, it must invest in local government and cities.
