City boss confirms Knight is set for a few weeks on the sidelines

JASON Knight has suffered a tear in his adductor, which is expected to rule him out for the next few weeks, Gerhard Struber has confirmed, but the Bristol City boss hopes Rob Atkinson will be ready to feature against QPR this weekend.
City captain Knight missed the Robins’ 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Tuesday night, having been forced off late on against Preston North End last weekend.
In the absence of the Republic of Ireland international and fellow midfielders Joe Williams and Max Bird, Struber had to get a bit creative with his team selection against the Tractor Boys.
With no other senior midfielders at his disposal, the City head coach opted to start defender Zak Vyner next to Adam Randell, with George Tanner slotting into the backline. Vyner impressed in his different role, ultimately being named the supporters’ ‘pick of the match’ after the full-time whistle. Playing in the middle of the park may be something the 28-year-old is forced to do more often in the coming weeks, however, with Knight set for a spell on the sidelines.
