GRIEVING MUM PLEADS WITH DRIVERS NOT TO TAKE RISKS ON OUR ROADS
THE devastated mother of tragic 20-year-old Denii Reynolds who died in a high speed crash on the A16 has urged all drivers to avoid taking risks.
Denii died on the A16 at Utterby in October 2021 when the car in which she was a passenger was being driven at nearly 99mph.
Her heartbroken mum, Danielle Robinson, is leading a safety campaign with Lincolnshire Police and talks about the family's devastation in a compelling video "Think of Denii".
It has a powerful message to anyone who would drive irresponsibly and take risks on our roads.
Denii had been to Louth with friends and was returning to Grimsby when driver Keelan Tuke lost control and collided with another car driven by an elderly Louth woman. Denii was a passenger in one of four cars that were being driven, in convoy, at speeds of up to 99 miles per hour on the night of the collision.
Tuke, who was 19 at the time, led a "convoy" of cars driven by Josh Dobb, Riley Duncombe and Keigan Launder, who prosecutors said were racing each other on the A16 on October 26, 2021, in a "misplaced act of bravado".
All four were convicted of causing Denii's death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by the same means to pensioner Margaret Williams, after Tuke's Citroen C1 crossed into the opposite carriageway and collided with her Vauxhall Corsa.
Tuke, of Grafton Street, Grimsby; Launder, of Louth Road, Grimsby; and Dobb, of Hadleigh Road, Immingham, were all locked up for eight and a half years for causing Denii's death, and given concurrent three-year sentences for the injuries to Ms Williams.
