THE Polokwane High Court has sentenced traditional healer Hlologelo Klaas Mogotlane (36) to 20 years' imprisonment for the murder of Dr Malekutu Johannes Mehlape, a circuit manager at the Department of Education.
Mokgadi Mehlape, daughter of Dr Malekutu Johannes Mehlape.
The incident occurred on December 28, 2023 at Mehlape's home in Mankweng Zone 1. Mogotlane pleaded guilty to murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. He was sentenced to 20 years for murder and 13 years for robbery, with the sentences to run concurrently. The court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm.
