Transport bosses lay on extra tram service to beat air show road closures

Blackpool Transport is laying on extra services over the weekend, as thousands of visitors are expected to arrive in the resort for the annual Blackpool Air Show.

The promenade will be closed to traffic during the show on Saturday and Sunday, so bosses at the tram and bus operator say they are going the extra mile to ensure visitors and local residents can make the most of the event.
Additional trams will run from Manchester Square towards Starr Gate and from North Station towards Fleetwood on both days, although a 'split service' will be in operation between midday and 6.30pm.
