Fylde coast anglers are not at sea as boat fishing brings plenty of species

Brimmer Brooks landed his first codling of the season

The Blue Mink Boat Charters have landed bass, plaice, flounder, small tope, smooth-hound, dab, pouting, conger eel, poor cod, dragonet, dogfish, bull huss, rays, mackerel, herring, tompot blenny and whiting-all caught within the last week.

Shore fishing has also been productive for anglers venturing out at night with whiting in numbers, the odd decent bass and the first codlings of the season coming ashore.

Fleetwood and District Angling Club's latest match was a flat and round at the Miners' home.

Expectations were not high as a match the day before yielded very little.

It was a flat sea but the anglers taking part missed most of the predicted rain apart from the last half-hour.
