Probe launched after full council meeting walkout

DUDLEY Council is investigating the extraordinary scenes at a meeting which led to a walkout by angry councillors.

A meeting of the full council on April 28 saw the mayor, Cllr Hilary Bills, intervene to answer a question aimed at the council's leader from Cllr Steve Edwards of the Dudley Independent Group (DIG).
Following a spat between the mayor and Cllr Edwards, members of DIG and Liberal Democrat Cllr Andrew Tromans stormed out of the council chamber and are demanding an apology.
