VILLA have opened talks with Real Betis over signing Jesus Rodriguez.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a breakout campaign under Manuel Pellegrini last season and is regarded as a highly promising talent.

Rodriguez made 32 senior appearances, including 21 in La Liga, and made his first-team debut in October in the Copa del Rey against CD Gevora.

He bagged two league goals - one in his fourth game against Alaves and another later in the campaign in a 5-1 win over Real Valladolid.

Most impressively, Rodriguez played in 19 of Betis' 20 La Liga games after the turn of the year.
