Trump tackles Houthis

March 17, 2025

IRAN has once again denied aiding Yemen's Houthi rebels, after the United States launched a wave of air strikes against the militants and US President Donald Trump warned Tehran will be held “fully accountable” for their actions.

Yemen’s Houthi-run health ministry said the strikes killed at least 31 people, including women and children, and injured more than 100. The rebels said one strike hit two homes in Saada province, killing four children and a woman.

The Houthis have repeatedly targeted international shipping in the Red Sea and have launched missiles and drones at Israel in what the rebels said were acts of solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has been at war with Hamas - another Iranian ally.
