Tories: We would scrap fortnightly bin pickup

BIRMINGHAM'S Conservative Party says ending the city's long-running bin strike and scrapping fortnightly collections is part of its 'six-point plan' ahead of May's local elections.
Tory Leader Coun Robert Alden claimed the opposition party to Labour-run Birmingham City Council would "work tirelessly" to "protect local services" if it were to take control.
He said: "In 2026, we will work tirelessly to rebuild trust, protect local services and ensure Birmingham has the leadership it deserves.
"With all-out elections this May, Labour can lose control of the council if they lose just 15 seats."
