TOMMY Doyle is determined to live in the moment at Blues after finding his final season at Wolves far from enjoyable.

- By ALEX DICKEN

The talented midfielder has joined Blues on loan, with a view to the transfer being made permanent next summer, after being overlooked by Wolves chief Vitor Pereira.

Despite only being 23, Doyle brings a wealth of experience to Blues having already played a half-century of Premier League games, winning promotion from the Championship and a European title with England Under-21s.

It is signings like Doyle which have prompted punters to back League One champions Blues for another promotion and that is unmistakably the aim for Chris Davies' side. However, Doyle is taking nothing for granted.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, he said: “I was saying to my dad the other day, because we were speaking about it (promotion), ‘listen, I really want to be present and in the moment every single day.

“We have a massive chance to do something special and there is people from the outside looking in going, ‘gosh, they can get to the Premier League, they can do this and that,’ and, of course, we can but I think the main thing is to be present in the moment right now.
