Thug attacked station man in bag snatch bid

A VIOLENT thug attacked a man at a Sutton Coldfield railway station while on probation.

Lance Hughes, of St Dominic’s Road in Erdington, saw a man in his 60s walking up the stairs at Chester Road station on Wednesday, August 21, last year.

The victim was with two women and was approaching the station’s ticket machine when Hughes prepared for the attack.

While the man and women were at the machine, the 33-year-old put a coat over his head in an attempt to disguise himself and prevent being caught on CCTV.

Hughes approached the victim and tried to speak to him. But then went to grab his bag, which was over his shoulder.
