THE VERDICT

- By DAVID LAWRENCE

SIX games into the new season and Solihull Moors are still searching for their first win after National League high-fliers Southend picked up the points at Damson Park.

And for under-pressure manager Matt Taylor, it is all about his players believing in themselves and cutting out the mistakes.

While the highlight of this contest was, without doubt, a stunning 30-yard effort from Moors striker Dan Creaney, the visitors capitalised on some sloppy Solihull play to take the win.

Taylor said: “The problem was we had to work really hard for our goal and they didn’t have to work hard for theirs, and that’s the disappointing thing and the difference as to why they are where they are in the league and why we are where we are.
