'Phenomenal' dancer was on doomed flight

TRIBUTES have been paid to a “phenomenal” Birmingham dancer who died with his husband in the Air India crash.

Jamie Greenlaw-Meek and his husband Fiongal were among the 241 people killed when the Gatwick bound plane came down just after taking off in the city of Ahmedabad on Thursday.

He moved from Birmingham to Liverpool when he was 12 to join the Elliot Clark Performing Arts School and completed another performing arts course in Coventry.

Mr Greenlaw-Meek also competed in the BBC1 show DanceX in 2007 and was part of a boy band called Jump The Lights. He later toured the world with an Irish dance show called Spirit Of The Dance.

A number of tributes were paid to him on social media after it emerged the couple had been on the flight.
