Perfect Northfield chalk up 15th win

NORTHFIELD Conservative Club began the second half of the season in the Harborne and District League where they left off the first half, with a win.
With a maximum from M. Lloyd and an 8-1 result at home against Avenue Social, Northfield Conservative Club made it 15 straight wins to give them a perfect score of 30 points and a lead of four over second, third and fourth-placed Copper Fox ‘R’, Copper Fox ‘M’ and Northfield Darts Club.
Copper Fox ‘R’ had an away fixture against next to bottom of the table Weoley Castle and returned with a very convincing 9-0 result to keep them ahead of their local rivals Copper Fox ‘M’ on average after they won their home tie with Windsor Complex, who are bottom of the league, 8-1. Northfield Darts Club played away against Harborne Social and returned on the right side of the 7-2 result.
This week there were also maximums from A.Beagrie (Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club), M.Collins (Smethwick Cricket Club) and C.Fowler and J.Downer from Copper Fox ‘M’.
■ The Kings Norton League, like the Harborne and District League also began the second half of their season and leaders Northfield took their undefeated run to 14 games with a 7-0 success playing away against next to bottom of the table E57. With a perfect 28 points Northfield are four to the good on their nearest rivals Bournbrook who with a maximum from M.Bathurst won 7-0 at Dingle. Copper Fox are third, their 22 points six off the top after they added their latest 6-1 home win over Kings Norton Flights to their account, J.Hykin notching a 180 for Copper Fox. Bournville make up the top four, they are a further two points adrift with 20 points after a 6-1 home win over Stirchley, M.Collins (Bournville) another player to find the three treble 20s.
