TEACHERS AT 20 SCHOOLS TO STAGE NINE DAYS OF ACTION

Parents warned strikes could lead to disruption

Arthur Terry School in Sutton Coldfield is among the 24-strong trust

A SCHOOLS trust with venues across the Midlands has confirmed teachers' strike dates in a dispute over redundancies.

Teachers at 20 of the 24 schools run by the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP), based at Kittoe Road in Sutton Coldfield, are set to walk out on nine days this month.

National Education Union (NEU) members have expressed workload fears as a consequence of colleagues being made redundant.

The strike dates will lead to a "level of disruption" and could mean children do not attend school on some dates, ATLP chair Richard Gill says.

The trust confirmed in October that it was "facing financial challenges" and was making a number of staff redundant.

The then chair of the ATLP trust's board, John Vickers, said: "The proposals focus on minimising the impact on teaching and learning, ensuring that every child continues to receive the highest quality education, care and opportunities."
