Mum's drive to help others turn their lives around

WOMAN'S ROLE IS HER WAY OF SAYING THANKS

A BIRMINGHAM mum-of-two went from relying on benefits and living in a council flat to buying her own property in an inspirational life transformation.

At her lowest point, Mireille Yamdjeu kept failing job interviews and lived in fear her young daughter would fall from their tower block window.

The 43-year-old, formerly of Northfield, felt she was failing her family during four years of unemployment as she suffered health issues and depression after an emergency C-section.

Now, thanks to her dedication and help of UK charity SmartWorks, she owns her own property in Handsworth Wood.

Anne Powell, centre manager at Birmingham SmartWorks, which supports unemployed women through coaching and clothing, said Mireille's was "one of the most transformational stories".
