Millington to report ref over full-time comments
February 02, 2026

FUMING boss Chris Millington said Solihull Moors would report referee Sam Mulhall over alleged comments that “really bring into question his integrity” following Saturday's 2-0 defeat to York City.
Usually-measured Millington, right, struggled to hold back having been unhappy with the penalty call that enabled the high-flying Minstermen, unbeaten in the league since October 1, to get ahead.
Replays show that York's Greg Olley was trying to pull the trigger after a blocked shot ricocheted his way in a clustered box.
Darius Lipsiuc slid in from the left and played the ball against Olley as he was turning into the path of the Moors man. Contact happened shortly after with the ball bouncing away from them, although Olley was under pressure from two yellow shirts behind him.
Mulhall paused and pointed to the spot with Alex Hunt just about squeezing the spot-kick past Laurie Walker's dive to his left on the hour mark.
“I feel hard done to and let down,” said Millington.
“We knew at the time that it wasn't (a penalty) but you start to question your sanity. Then you watch it back and the reality is we are right.
“The decisions are poor but then the behaviour and some of the things that the referee said to the players after the game, which I won't raise here but we will certainly raise with the powers that be, it just isn’t good enough.
