Man, 32, charged with murder after body was found in canal 5 years ago

A MAN has been charged with murder more than five years after a victim was found dead in a city canal.
Darren Round had been walking along the Birmingham canal towpath, near Masshouse Lane in Kings Norton before his body was pulled from the water on February 15, 2020.
The 48-year-old had suffered significant facial injuries consistent with an assault.
Cain Watson, 32, was arrested in Birmingham on Wednesday night and was charged with Mr Round’s murder.
West Midlands Police said in a statement: “Investigators arrested a 32-year-old man at an address in Birmingham.
“Cain Watson has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court.
