Coroner asks for full reports ahead of Liam Payne inquest

A UK coroner has called for full reports and eyewitness statements before a final inquest into the death of One Direction star Liam Payne.

Senior Coroner Crispin Butler told a pre-inquest review that there are “continuing investigations in Argentina into the circumstances surrounding Liam's death".

The Wolverhampton-born singer died when he fell from the balcony of his third floor hotel room at Casa Sur Hotel, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2024. A postmortem examination report said the 31-year-old died of multiple traumas, as well as “internal and external haemorrhage”.
