Cops chainsaw way into suspect's home

POLICE bodycam footage has shown the dramatic moment officers had to chainsaw down a front door in the early hours to arrest a man in Birmingham.

Officers from West Midlands Police's major crime unit and county lines squad made the arrest just before 5am yesterday at a house in Edgbaston as part of a number of warrants that were executed across the city.

The pre-planned operation saw officers jump out of their response van to swiftly enter the porch area of the house with a saw, which they used to cut down the door.

Bodycam footage, shared by West Midlands Police with Birmingham Mail, shows a close-up of the rapid response made by officers in the first light yesterday morning.
