Car thief is tracked down to city as police follow trail across the north

A BIRMINGHAM burglar who took Audi and BMW cars from driveways at homes 60 miles away has been jailed.
Shafiollah Amiree searched through cupboards in a house and stole the keys to a grey Audi which was parked outside a property on Parklands Drive in Weston, Crewe.
The 24-year-old, from Erdington, fled the scene in the vehicle in the early hours of June 1. The car was recovered in the Birmingham area.
Three weeks later, he returned to the same area and broke into an address on nearby Park Drive in Wistaston. This time he stole a BMW and a Ford Focus on June 22. The Ford Focus was later found in Tunstall, Staffordshire.
