BRICK SUPPLIER EH SMITH UNVEILS ITS NEW DIGBETH DESIGN CENTRE
The new centre is housed in a restored 150-year-old warehouse. Right, left, a tram passing the same building last century
A BIRMINGHAM business with roots stretching back over a century has returned to the heart of the city with a “boutique of bricks” inside an old Digbeth building.
EH Smith, one of the UK’s oldest brick suppliers, has unveiled its new Digbeth Design Centre on Bradford Street - marking its first city centre presence since the 1960s.
The centre is a destination for architects, designers and construction professionals to explore materials and discuss ideas.
Based opposite the Smithfield regeneration site, the Design Centre sits at the intersection of the city's industrial heritage and its future.
