IAN Westwood knows his way around the County Championship as well as anyone and recognises the importance of gaining early momentum.
Westwood has been with the Bears for more than 20 years, as player and coach, and is ready for the challenge of leading his hometown club as they begin the 2025 campaign against Sussex at Edgbaston today.
"There's always a buzz around Edgbaston at this time of year," said Westwood. "It's my first as first-team coach but the excitement feels just the same. We've done a lot of hard work and prep in the winter, pushed ourselves on tour, everyone is working well in the nets and the lads are raring to go.
