Thousands to fill the air with song
May 08, 2025

Gather up your friends, family, neighbours and workmates to join Bath’s biggest evening of free live music - Party in the City.
-
Thousands of music lovers will head to Bath city centre on Friday, May 16, from 5pm, for the event where the sound of live music will spill out of pubs, clubs, churches, museums and galleries, and into the streets.
Some 2,000 singers and musicians will play at 39 venues and it's completely free to attend.
Stay in one place for the duration of the evening, or move from venue to venue to enjoy live performances from much-loved local bands through to emerging talent.
There is something for every taste, offering 16 genres of music.
A spokesperson for event organiser Bath Festivals said: “Enjoy everything from acoustic/pop, blues, folk, funk/soul, jazz and blues, and indie/rock through to choral and classical. Hear live music at Komedia, in Parade Gardens, the Guildhall, Bath Abbey, Green Park Station and many other venues around the city.
“Look out for brochures across the city ahead of the evening. These will also be handed out on the night.
