School holds anniversary celebrations

A school in Bath has marked its 75th anniversary with a series of celebrations attended by local dignitaries, alumni and former staff.

Moorlands Schools Federation, which includes the infant and junior schools, hosted assemblies, a special event with 75 invited guests, and a whole-school street party on Friday, June 13.
The schools, which opened in 1950 on the site of author Anna Sewell’s former home, have educated generations of children in Bath. That same year, CS Lewis published The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, sweet rationing was still in effect and only 350,000 homes in the UK had a television.
