Each November, people across Bath come together to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. This Remembrance Sunday was no exception.

Renewing our commitment to values they fought for

Standing at the War Memorial alongside veterans, the Royal British Legion, the Mayor of Bath, faith leaders and residents, I was deeply moved by the city’s collective gratitude. Their courage and sacrifice continue to shape the peace and democracy we enjoy today.

Earlier last week, I was honoured to plant a cross in the Garden of Remembrance in Parliament alongside Captain John Ledgister of the 39th Signal Regiment.

It was a poignant reminder that remembrance is not only about looking back, it’s also about renewing our commitment to the values they fought to defend.

Those same values guide much of my work in Parliament. This month, I've been speaking up on several issues that are close to the hearts of many Bath residents.
