Ewels confident for semi

Charlie Ewels is confident Bath Rugby will find the right emotional level to counter whatever Bristol Bears have to throw at them tomorrow night (Friday).

The two neighbouring sides will collide in the biggest derby meeting for a generation when top-of-the-table Bath host fourth-placed Bristol in the semi-final of the 2024/25 Gallagher Premiership.

While Bristol are busy shouting about the emotional levels they will reach for the crescendo of their season, the message from the Bath camp is about staying process-driven and level-headed, having discovered an impressive winning formula in 2024/25.

But Bath must be wary, because the Bears’ 36-26 victory at the Recreation Ground back in October was in part due to a superior intensity around the park that day and they are gunning to sing their victory song on the pitch once again.

But Ewels is confident his side will be ready for the big occasion. He said: “We are in the wrong game if the semi-final at home in the Premiership doesn’t mean stuff to us.
