TKN shares crash after SEC insider trading purge

Shares of Taokaenoi Food & Marketing (TKN) plunged by nearly 10% yesterday as Itthipat Peeradechapan announced his resignation as the company's chief executive and director following civil sanction measures imposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for insider trading violations.
In its filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), TKN acknowledged the SEC's announcement on Oct 27, which disclosed civil penalties against five individuals involved in insider trading of TKN shares.
The company stated it was reviewing the facts and gathering information from all relevant parties to ensure compliance with corporate governance principles. TKN said the allegation does not affect the company's ongoing business operations.
As of midday yesterday, TKN's share price had fallen by 9.9% to 4.64 baht, with a total trading value of 145 million baht following the news.
