Thai flights serve 145m passengers

The aviation sector grew 3.54% and accommodated more than 145 million passengers in 2025, driven by the expansion of long-haul and emerging markets despite weaker Chinese demand.

Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) governor ACM Manat Chuaprayoon said there were a total of 145.1 million passengers last year, including 67 million domestic passengers and 78 million international travellers. The total represents an increase of 4.9 million passengers, or 3.54%, from the previous year.

Although the figure was still lower than pre-Covid levels in 2019, when Thailand saw a higher number of Chinese tourists, the shortfall was partially offset by strong growth in Central Asian, Middle Eastern and long-haul markets, he said.
