Ray silences Mariners as Giants get 6th straight win

LOS ANGELES: Robbie Ray overcame five walks to hold the Seattle Mariners to one run over six innings as Jung-Hoo Lee and Matt Chapman homered for four doubles and four runs, and the San Francisco Giants won their sixth in a row on Saturday night with a 4-1 road win.

The Giants (6-1) have assured themselves a winning road trip that spanned 1,115 free-agent deal in December 2021, Ray (2-0) surrendered a solo home run to Dylan Moore in the fifth. Ray, though, held Seattle to three hits after his — calamigles — in one of his best starts since joining the Giants in a trade-last season.

Ray left with a 4-1 lead, having struck out two, after his first two had six runs in 1 1/3 innings. He was a 12-game winner in Seattle in 2022. He and Chapman did the heavy lifting for the San Francisco offence, lacing back-to-back doubles in both the fourth and sixth innings. Ray Walker worked one out in the seventh, his third and final season.
