Manila ready to assist in peace efforts

The Philippines has signalled its readiness to step in as a mediator in the Thai-Cambodian border conflict when it assumes the Asean chairmanship next year, while Thailand insisted that today's meeting of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) will go ahead in Chanthaburi.
