Residents living along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok's Klong Toey district are bracing for more floods, as authorities plan to increase the discharge rate of the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat today.
According to an alert sent out by the Royal Irrigation Department (RID) yesterday, the discharge rate at Chao Phraya Dam was to be adjusted from 2,800 cubic metres per second to 2,900m*/s early this morning.
The RID urged people living in high-risk areas to closely monitor situation updates and move their belongings to higher ground.
