Investors nudged to diversify portfolios

As Thai equities have staged a rebound, UOB Asset Management (UOBAM) recommends investors diversify their portfolios in the second half of 2025 with a focus on tech stocks, bonds and gold.

Nattapon Chansivanon, chief investment officer at UOBAM, said the Thai stock market and the global economy are expected to record a gradual recovery in the second half of the year, supported by clearer US trade and tax policies.

Locally, government stimulus, infrastructure investments and foreign capital inflows into the digital sector are the main driving factors.

Additional monetary easing by the Bank of Thailand could lend further support to financial markets. However, challenges remain, including persistently high household debt and a slow rebound in the tourism industry, said Mr Nattapon.

Inthe US, the economyis on track for asoft landing, buoyed by fiscal stimulus in the president's “One Big Beautiful Bill” and potential Federal Reserve rate cuts aimed at easing pressure on the labour market.
