Fix vow for GPS woes on motorway

October 07, 2025

|

Bangkok Post

The Highways Department has vowed to urgently fix the signs and GPS issues causing unwanted navigation onto Motorway M81 from Bang Yai in Non-thaburi to Kanchanaburi.

The department has issued an urgent clarification and action plan following widespread complaints on social media about confusing navigation leading them onto Motorway M81 with no immediate exit.

The issue gained traction after a viral Facebook post described a user's distressing experience: "The worst thing happened. The mall required a left turn, but Maps said right—and I ended up on M81 heading to Kanchanaburi with no way out. I cried while driving."
