DSI probes legality of converted runway

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has launched a probe into a complaint that a public road in tambon Khanong Pra in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pak Chong district has been converted into a private airstrip.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT) has been accused of ordering the construction of a runway there.
The DSI said yesterday after probing the area that a public road may have been converted into a private airstrip by Rancho Charnvee Resort & Country Club, raising concerns over public safety and the legality of land use.
An initial inspection confirmed that a 1-kilometre runway exists, with a section overlapping 450 metres of public road.
