Chinese firm building hospital

SONGKHLA: A new building at Songkhla Hospital is being constructed by the same Chinese company responsible for the 30-storey State Audit Office which collapsed during last Friday's earthquake.

The company is also behind the long delayed new terminal at Narathiwat Airport.
The same-storey hospital building, located in Muang district, is intended to house outpatient and accident services. Hospital director Ratanapol Lorprapserkul and public works engineers inspected the partially completed 428.89-million-baht project, which is under construction by Akkaraporn Development Co, which holds a 51% stake, and China Railway No. 10 (Thailand) Co., which holds the remaining 49%.
