BMA backs fare plan for Green Line, repaying debt

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has approved a plan to settle its 32-billion-baht debt owed to the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTSC) for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Green Line extensions.
It is also considering a new fare structure that will cap fares across the entire line at no more than 65 baht.
A meeting of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, chaired by council president Wiput Sriwa-urai, approved a supplementary budget for fiscal year 2026 to allocate up to 32.6 billion baht for debt repayment.
