BJT denies govt stalling charter change, cites external factors

The Bhumjaithai Party (BJT) has dismissed accusations that the government is intentionally stalling the constitutional amendment process, asserting that any delays are likely caused by external factors.

Responding to comments from Pheu Thai leader Julapun Amornvivat, who claimed the deliberations were progressing too slowly, BJT MP Paradorn Prissanananthakul said yesterday that his party had proposed a clear timeline to ensure the third reading of the bill is completed before the anticipated House dissolution.

According to Mr Paradorn, the proposed schedule includes convening an extraordinary parliamentary session in early December to conduct the second reading. This would allow the third reading, required to be held at least 15 days after the second, to take place later in the same month.
