Beijing praises joint effort to combat scammers

China praised Thailand and Myanmar’s efforts to dismantle transnational scam syndicates, which have led to the arrest of over 6,600 suspects to date, while urging Bangkok to look into the alleged links between Cambodian officials and the syndicates’ masterminds.

According to a statement released by the Royal Thai Army, the feedback was received during a meeting between China's Assistant Minister for Public Security, Liu Zhongyi, and the head of Thailand's Coordination Centre with Neighbouring Countries, Gen Direk Nongkarn, in Bangkok on Wednesday.
