Air force pledges defence as border ceasefire tested

The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) yesterday assured the public of its readiness to respond to any threat to Thailand's sovereignty, as tensions persist along the Thai-Cambodian border despite both countries agreeing to a ceasefire late last month.

RTAF spokesman, AM Jackkrit Thammavichai, said the air force will continue to monitor the situation along the border, amid reports of provocation following the ceasefire announcement.
He said there have been “two to three” incidents of provocation over the past several days, the latest of which saw a flare attached to a border fence go off.
