Activists urge EC to act on Thaksin-Thanathorn talks

Two activists have requested that the Election Commission (EC) investigate a private meeting between former premier Thaksin Shinawatra and Progressive Movement leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit on Saturday.
Sonthiya Sawasdee yesterday submitted a petition urging the EC to investigate and take legal action against the ruling Pheu Thai Party and the main opposition, the People’s Party (PP). Srisuwan Janya, leader of the “Love Nation, Love Land” group, filed a separate petition with the same request.
Mr Sonthiya alleged that Thaksin and Thanathorn — neither of whom is amember of the two parties, with both barred from holding political rights — were exerting influence over government formation talks.
