'No mixed rubbish' drive begins Oct 1

More than 230,000 households have registered for the “No Mixed Waste” programme set for launch on Oct 1, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) said yesterday.

The BMA will begin collecting waste disposal fees under a new rate structure starting Oct 1, as part of its broader waste management reforms. The flagship initiative, “This House Doesn’t Mix Waste’; has already attracted 239,064 registered participants via the BKK Waste Pay platform as of Wednesday.

Governor Chadchart Sittipunt chaired the ninth executive meeting this year, where the Department of Environment reported a strong public response and outlined plans to expand registration and improve digital infrastructure for waste tracking.
