Warring couple settle dispute at HC's behest

Court referred them to the mediation centre, which helped them hash out a full and final settlement of Rs 39 lakh
The Gujarat High Court's mediation service has brought an end to a long-running matrimonial battle, with a warring couple agreeing to a comprehensive settlement.
Under the court-annexed mediation process, the husband will pay Rs 39 lakh as permanent alimony to his wife, covering her and their daughter’s maintenance.
The matter reached the High Court after both parties filed appeals challenging a Family Court order from June 2024 in Palanpur. In September 2025, the HC referred the case to its mediation centre to explore a possible settlement.
