AMC to sell four reserve plots worth Rs 441 crore

Civic body eyes land sales to fund 2026-27 budget as development projects and upcoming Commonwealth Games push up costs

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has moved to sell four reserve plots through e-auction to raise Rs 441 crore ahead of the 2026-27 budget.

The proposal has been placed before the Standing Committee for final approval.

The plots are in Shela, Sola-Hebatpur and Vastral. The civic body wants to avoid a financial crunch as it prepares for several development projects and the Commonwealth Games.

Civic sources said AMC receives reserve plots for residential and commercial use under town planning schemes across the city. These are usually sold when the civic body faces financial pressure, needs to show income to financial institutions, or plans to increase its annual budget.
