The men in Green ran out with a spark and the wind at their backs, really taking the fight to Dings, forcing a series of penalties and putting Matt Smith’s men on the ropes.
It was only seven minutes in when Ronan Kelly struck and Exeter were off the mark.
The wind made exits difficult and Exeter’s rush defence stopped the carries from deep.
Dings’ ray of light came from an Exeter line-out. Drew Turner, dominant all game, took the ball into contact, then handed through to Oscar Lennon, Ciaran Donoghue, Smith and back to Lennon to score and make Sam Worsley’s conversion unmissable.
Exeter were soon back in the red zone and, from a sneaky line-out, Sol Moody peeled off and scored.
