Shard hits top form in Lymm's vital win

LYMM moved seven points clear of the drop zone after a convincing victory against relegation rivals Preston Grasshoppers.
With the freezing weather conditions forcing most clubs to postpone their matches, Lymm’s crucial encounter against Preston Grasshoppers was the only game played in the division.
It gave both sides a chance to put themselves in a more comfortable league position, which Lymm accomplished thanks to an inspiring performance from Tom Shard.
Shard scored more points in the game than Preston managed, with the back hitting 26 compared to Grasshoppers’ 22.
It was a disappointing day for the Lancashire side, who were instantly put on the back foot by Ralph McEachran.
McEachran raced into space down the righthand side and punished Preston with only one minute on the clock, with Shard kicking his first conversion of the day.
